Feline Infectious Panleukopenia (FIPV), also known as feline distemper, is a highly contagious and potentially fatal viral disease caused by the feline parvovirus.
Common symptoms include severe vomiting, diarrhea, fever, lethargy, dehydration, and loss of appetite. Kittens and unvaccinated cats are at the highest risk.
The virus spreads through contact with infected feces, bodily fluids, or contaminated environments and can survive for long periods in the surroundings.
Vaccination is the most effective way to prevent feline panleukopenia. Immediate veterinary care is critical if symptoms appear.
